City of Phoenix (COPHD) Requirements and Considerations

The City of Phoenix is responsible for administering HUD requirements this means that:

  • COPHD will evaluate your assets, income, and background check to determine eligibility

  • The income limit ranges from $36,000 for 1-Person Households to $67,850 for 8-Person Households

  • The priority limit ranges from $21,600 for 1-Person Households to $52,720 for 8-Person Households

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Requirements

The U.S. HUD sets forth the below requirements which are administered by the Local Public Housing Authority:

  • Household income must not exceed 50% of the area median income (AMI)

  • At least 75% of vouchers must be provided to applicants with incomes below 30% of AMI

  • Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens with the proper immigration status
